Description | The Romans, Hungarians and Turks began history in Szekesfehervar more than one thousand years ago. After the invading Turks razed more of the city in 1526 with fire, it was reshaped into an industrial and agricultural center. The 11th century Basilica held nearly 40 coronations in its historic Garden of Ruins. Farming and industry remain as the city's economic base. |
