into a flashier modern resort, though such rustic touches as the 1835
mill remain. On the upside, rooms in the "town house" addition are
chic and pleasant; on the downside, service is less homey than in
the past. The small beach is a steep hillside descent from most accommodations,
many of which have sea vistas. By night, the formal restaurant serves
imaginative French cuisine to the romantic strains of a full orchestra.
