St. Maarten Shopping Overview |
| Philipsburg's popular Front Street is lined with rows of pastel colored boutiques and shops. Their high quality imports of Italian leathers, Finnish stoneware, Swedish crystal, Irish linen, perfume, china, and much more are, blessedly, duty free. As for designer fashions, a greater selection found on the French side of the island. St. Maarten's rum laced, Guavaberry Liqueur is the island's favorite native product. Local crafts include hammocks, Caribelle batik and herbs & spices. Avoid Tuesday shopping when the cruise ship hordes take to the streets. |
