Melia Hotel.
Dating back to 1910, the Melia Hotel (no connection
to the Spanish hotel group) is situated in the center of Ponce directly
facing the old Spanish Plaza. Although the rooms have been renovated
and modernized in recent years, they are generally undistinguished.
But this is not the primary reason for a stopover - history is. The
turn of the century architecture is superb and the feel of the
Melia's spacious public areas, its restaurant and
bar and garden courtyard is that of an earlier era. AC. 77
